Please note that Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel are closed on SUNDAY.

Please be aware that on WEDNESDAY St. Peter's Basilica may be unavailable due to the weekly Papal Audiences. During the Audience, the access to St. Peter's Basilica is closed until 1 pm and on rare occasions, St. Peter's Basilica closes WITHOUT NOTICE.
If this happens, you will still have plenty of time to wander around Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel.

A dress code is required to enter the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica:
Low cut or sleeveless clothing, shorts, miniskirts, and hats are not allowed.
Only small bags/backpacks are permitted.

It is strictly forbidden to take photographs in the Sistine Chapel.
Everywhere else it is possible to take photographs with no flash.

Long items such as large umbrellas, camera stands, and tripods, walking sticks (unless for disabled persons) are not allowed and are to be left at cloakrooms.

Food and drinks are not allowed to be taken inside the museums, with the exception of water.
